Tiranga Protest march by students in Lucknow against saffron suppression

Lucknow| At 11 AM on 21 June, 2017, the students from different universities undertook their Tiranga protest march from the martyr’s memorial site in Lucknow. The protest march included social activists besides students. The students had black ribbons on their face and were holding Tiranga and photos of Baba Saheb Ambedkar and Phoolan Devi.

A number of social workers  also participated in the protest march along with students from Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi University and Allahabad University against the saffron suppression. When the tiranga protest march against the suppression by the Yogi government was progressing from the martyr monument of Lucknow, the police stopped the rally in the middle. Many people were taken into custody. Detained people include Dileep Yadav, Ram Karan Nirmal, Amik Jamei, Yaduvendra Pratap Yadav, Indrabhushan Pratap Yadav, Pawan Ambedkar and others.

Demand for Students included:

  • Stop killing of innocent Muslims by cow vigilantes
  • Immediate release of Chandrasekhar Azad Ravan and his colleagues and dropping of false cases against them
  • Stop police atrocities on students of Lucknow and Gorakhpur and prosecute of guilty policemen
  • Fulfill the demand for the distressed farmers of Mandsaur.
